Autumn. Is it time for the slow cooker yet?

Autumn is here but it is unseasonably warm here in Somerset. Usually in September I turn to my trusty slow cooker to create some simple nutritious evening meals. However it is still safely packed away in the cupboard for now. Nevertheless now seems to be a good time to think ahead and start planning the meals that I will be making. What’s cooking? I don’t know about you but I love a traditional stew in the autumn/winter. There is something so comforting about it. Making it the day before also adds to the flavour so its a great way of planning ahead. When I make a stew in the slow…

Back to School 2020 Style (parent and school staff edition)

Back to school 2020 2020 has certainly been the year that we would most like to forget I’m sure. It’s been difficult to say the least. However it’s now September and that can only mean one thing – back to school. 6 months of no school runs has been amazing, I’m not going to lie. I have enjoyed having my children at home. But the time has come to send them back. Was I apprehensive? Yes. Even though I had been in to teach during lockdown I was concerned that the bubbles would not work. I’m still not entirely convinced to be truthful. However I am full of admiration for…

Review – Oral B Calm – read on for an honest review

Review of Oral B Calm Toothpaste I was lucky enough to be chosen to try a new toothpaste recently. As a person who suffers with sensitive teeth and gums this was fab news. I am part of the 60% of people who suffer with sensitive teeth and gum issues. Until recently I was using a different type of toothpaste to help this. My old toothpaste was ok, it seemed to do the job but I wouldn’t say I was totally happy with it. Oral B Calm has a great taste and leaves my mouth feeling refreshed and healthy. I didn’t know what to expect when it came to the sensitivity…

    Are you worried?

With so much to be worried about at the moment I just wanted to check in with you all and check how you are. Are you feeling the pressure to return to “normal?” I am worried and I make no apologies for feeling this way. We have all spent a considerable amount of time at home and staying safe. Now it seems that we are able to go back to “normal” almost. The trains and underground are packed again, the buses are busy. The roads are certainly getting busier. I am worried as we seem to be rushing back to get the economy going but at what cost? Schools are…

    Mission statement

Mission statement – what is that? This explanation makes it easier to understand. In simplest terms, a mission statement defines the goals and purpose of a company, organization, or individual.  Why is it so important to have a mission statement? Well without it I would have no idea what I plan to write about. So I am going to try to explain mine. Cash Mum I originally started blogging on my old site which was Arewemad2. It was purely a personal blog about the crazy life we lead here. It was about the animals primarily but also touched on other subjects. Cash Mum came about as I was spending more…

    Latest Vlog Post

Latest Vlog Post – well the second one really as I have only done 1 before! Hope that you will enjoy it. I have been trying to find some new ways of making some extra money and my research is going to take a little while longer but I will get this out to you as soon as I am able to. So in the meantime I have a question for you. What should I do the next vlog post about? Obviously the main theme of this blog is money, family and the animals so it must be related to one of these things. You can ask me a question…

    Vlog Post

Vlogs – what are Vlogs? So a Vlog is a video blog right? I have never even thought about creating one of these but apparently they are very popular so I thought I would give it a go! Now this has not been without a LOT of issues! Some people have no problem with Vlogs but I, it seems, am not one of them. First of all I needed to choose a topic – well gardening seemed to be a good plan as I have not shared much about that with you. So off I go into the poly tunnel and take a video on my phone. So far so…
