Everyday is a puppy day isn’t it?

Today I am bringing you a blog post from Perfect Pets. It was originally posted to celebrate National Puppy Day (isn’t everyday a puppy day?) however the code is still applicable today. Why not have a read and then take advantage of the fabulous discount being offered. Let’s face it puppies are cute and cuddly, and every dog lover will tell you about that first moment when their eyes locked in on their new bundle of joy. However, for some owners the cuteness soon fades and what is left is the reality of taking care of a new life which can be daunting. That’s why it’s important for any new…

I’m back – how are you all?

I’m back! January was spent in a Covid haze. What a horrible virus it is. I had to go into hospital for a few days but luckily only needed oxygen for a few days. However they don’t tell you about the after effects. I still have fatigue and brain fog! Some would say I always have brain fog but this is something else. I have literally no recollection of a couple of weeks. However it’s onwards and upwards now. Today I went for a walk around the fields with the dogs. Something that a week or so ago I would have found impossible. Anyway I just thought I would check…

Autumn. Is it time for the slow cooker yet?

Autumn is here but it is unseasonably warm here in Somerset. Usually in September I turn to my trusty slow cooker to create some simple nutritious evening meals. However it is still safely packed away in the cupboard for now. Nevertheless now seems to be a good time to think ahead and start planning the meals that I will be making. What’s cooking? I don’t know about you but I love a traditional stew in the autumn/winter. There is something so comforting about it. Making it the day before also adds to the flavour so its a great way of planning ahead. When I make a stew in the slow…

Back to School 2020 Style (parent and school staff edition)

Back to school 2020 2020 has certainly been the year that we would most like to forget I’m sure. It’s been difficult to say the least. However it’s now September and that can only mean one thing – back to school. 6 months of no school runs has been amazing, I’m not going to lie. I have enjoyed having my children at home. But the time has come to send them back. Was I apprehensive? Yes. Even though I had been in to teach during lockdown I was concerned that the bubbles would not work. I’m still not entirely convinced to be truthful. However I am full of admiration for…

Review – Oral B Calm – read on for an honest review

Review of Oral B Calm Toothpaste I was lucky enough to be chosen to try a new toothpaste recently. As a person who suffers with sensitive teeth and gums this was fab news. I am part of the 60% of people who suffer with sensitive teeth and gum issues. Until recently I was using a different type of toothpaste to help this. My old toothpaste was ok, it seemed to do the job but I wouldn’t say I was totally happy with it. Oral B Calm has a great taste and leaves my mouth feeling refreshed and healthy. I didn’t know what to expect when it came to the sensitivity…

    Are you worried?

With so much to be worried about at the moment I just wanted to check in with you all and check how you are. Are you feeling the pressure to return to “normal?” I am worried and I make no apologies for feeling this way. We have all spent a considerable amount of time at home and staying safe. Now it seems that we are able to go back to “normal” almost. The trains and underground are packed again, the buses are busy. The roads are certainly getting busier. I am worried as we seem to be rushing back to get the economy going but at what cost? Schools are…
