Charity days

Charity days

I love charity days! Now I know not everyone wants to dress up and take part but with most people working in schools, offices, banks etc it is part of the deal.

The only thing I disagree with is spending lots of money on said dressing up clothes. Many charities have a theme such as red noses and that is great and you can get a red nose to show your support or even get one for your car. However the amount of money that some people spend on getting the right clothes for the occasion is shocking. I am not talking about official merchandise (of course this is great and a money maker for the charity) but I am talking about clothes that are for charity days but none of the money goes to said charity.

Giving more to charity.

I have been a long time supporter of many charities and each year try to raise funds by taking part in fund raising events. And this week is no exception. On Friday (15th November 2019) it is the very popular Children in Need event. I will be showing my support by donating which I will be doing via the link here https://www.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk/

As I work in a school I will also be taking part in the wearing something spotty event. However I don’t own any spotty clothes, nor do my children. I have looked on the internet and found lots of spotty tops but they are all rather expensive and I would rather the charity had some of my hard earned money not the retailers.

So with that in mind I have decided to customise some tops that we already own. Now this can be done in several ways but I have chosen to do it with sticky dots. This was I won’t break my bank account and the t shirt will still be wearable after the event. Of course it also means that spending less on the outfit will be more money to give to the charity.

I found my spots on Amazon here is the link if you would like to have a look

Over to you

I would love to know which charities you support and how you choose to do it. Do you enjoy the dressing up? Leave a comment and let me know.
